Halifax Harbour View House | Sleeps 14

This home certainly had the room for our large family however there were some issues. The BBQ was not working, we contacted host and he never replied to us until out check out time. We only brought food to BBQ. The house was not properly cleaned. We found dried vomit on the wall near one of the bunk bed. This place is also very damp and musty smelling. Dehumidifier was full of mildew that I also saw written in a previous review. For the price, we were disappointed.

Here is my honest review after staying 3 nights at this property. There are plenty of beds. Some of them are comfortable, some are worn out and squeaky, some are broken. Some of the beds did not have mattress protectors. There are two bathrooms. The upstairs bathroom has an uneven floor and is cramped. The toilet is at a weird angle and the seat does not match the bowl. When the shower is running the water leaks through the ceiling and drips down into the other bathroom below it. The main floor bathroom has a bathtub and a shower hose, but the hose has no stand so you need to hold the wand during your whole shower. The location is close to things downtown but is in a really weird spot. It’s on a VERY busy and loud road. It was scary pulling out of the driveway every time we left the house. You can’t walk anywhere from the house. There is no sidewalk and it’s a very busy road. There are billboards right outside your window. The kitchen has all the things you need. The cleanliness was subpar. There was grime and dust on surfaces. The carpets felt crusty. The house felt unsafe. The stairs and floors were uneven. One of the basement bedrooms only can be opened from the outside so one of our guests got locked in their bedroom all night since everyone else was asleep in bed. There is old caution tape on the door frame of the front door making us wonder if the house had been part of a crime scene? I would not stay here again.

Not clean and was musty. Humidifier was full of water and when we emptied it, there was mold. Fans were very dusty with some broken. One of the faucets was broken as well. Owner did not respond when I sent them a note. It was in a very odd location under a big billboard sign. While there were many beds, and air conditioning upstairs, it did not cool the house enough for everyone to sleep comfortably. Pros- there was a washer and dryer and it’s not far from downtown core.
